On June 1st Liz and Dixie Tyrrell will be back teaching full-time at BYB/BYHSq. They have been traveling around the country teaching Bikram Yoga for the last 9 months. I'm sure they'll have plenty of stories to share…looking forward to it!!

WELCOME BACK LIZ & DIXIE!!!!

A word or two about the practice, the hot room and the change of seasons...

Practicing Bikram Yoga intelligently and consistently has been shown by countless students to reverse the negative effects of aging, regulate metabolism, reduce the impact of stress and strain, and substantially aid in the cure of chronic disease.

Each posture in the Bikram Yoga sequence prepares you for the next, with the overall effectiveness of the series producing a comprehensive sense of well being. The list of results is long (I'm sure you have a few of your own)...better posture, a calmer mind, a lightness to your step, loss of weigh, balance between strength and flexibility, a glow to your skin, an ease when performing other sports, an increase in lung capacity, an overall sense of a healthier, happier life...the list goes on.

Keeping up your practice as the seasons change and the temperatures outside fluctuate, as is always the case in NE, should be and is natural…the practice is the practice, the internal workings of the body need to be charged regularly regardless of outside temperatures and rest assured the conditions in the hot room will not change. When practicing Bikram Yoga the conditions are and must be controlled (105° +/-, relative to humidity levels) and are done so to produce a desired effect. In order to safely reshape, reorganize, reenergize the body the temperature in the practice room must be controlled and will not change. The intelligence of a sequence of postures determines the overall benefit of that practice, therefore the Bikram Yoga sequence will not change.

Bikram Yoga is a time-honored and effective form of natural healing, and as stated by Bikram himself "Yoga maintains youth. It keeps the body full of vitality, immune to disease, even at old, old age. Where medical science stops, there the science of yoga begins."
